Wall Type: Lightweight Aerated Concrete (AAC) Panel Noise Wall

Scope: Design, supply and construct steel post and lightweight concrete panel Noise Wall to mitigate the noise generated from the shopping centre loading docks and traffic to adjoining residents.

Project Details: 

• 60m long and 4.2-5.1m high with a construction period of 2 weeks. 
  
• Hot dipped galvanised Steel posts with lightweight concrete panel infill, painted with Colourbond “Pale Eucalypt” colour. 
  
• Project challenges included working off the driveway of an operating shopping centre busy traffic; installing posts next to 1200mm diameter existing stormwater pipe running along wall alignment in pier footing zone of influence, which was not identified or located until works commenced onsite; groundwater encountered in some pier holes requiring a fast but effective engineering solution with deeper piers and reinforcing cages to affected piers.
