Scope of Works: Design and construct noise walls. Noise wall height is 5m including 1m section of translucent material at the top. Panel joints were aligned, and the fixing bolt head were recessed and rendered over to give a “clean”, contemporary look. AAC panels were coated with texture paint and top coated with an anti-graffiti coating, to front of wall. The urban design requirement was for the wall to “run down” the grade of the road (i.e. no steps in the wall), so the post were installed out of vertical, at 90 degrees to the grade of the road, and the panels installed at a grade of 60. A return panel was required at each end of the wall to provide further additional acoustic protection. A wire rope safety barrier formed part of the project, with maximum deflection criteria of 1.35m.
